...is a great movie. I got it off of Netflix a few weeks ago but didn't get around to finally watching it until last Sunday. I knew about the ending ahead of time (actually took interest in the film because of it) but it's still shocking and effective all the same. I get the feeling it'll stay with me for days, much like Silent Hill 2's big reveal did. Besides the ending, it's compellingly written and acted, with a pacing that's slow, but supports the story rather than drags it down. I recommend it to fans of Hitchcock and/or Memento. I don't recommend it to fans of downer endings, but if that's the case, then they can turn to the American (though reportedly inferior) remake with a Good End.
In other unrelated news, I've finally come up with a name for my gecko, and it's Chloe. She shed her skin over spring break; it was cool to watch her tear off her skin and eat it.
The weather here has also gone from cold and windy to warm bordering hot. It's bad news for my apartment, which traps heat easily, but having the door cracked open with its chain lock in use seems to do the trick in cooling it down a little.
( Super Mario 64 is a depressing, lonely gameCollapse )
