Friday I went over to a friend's house for a birthday, along with toggy, Tyler, and a buncha other people. He had two Jack Russel terriers. They had about twice the energy that my dog has so they were INSANE. Like BULLETS ON APPLE CIDER. SPEAKING OF APPLES, we watched this one clip of Double Zeta Gundam where these guys kept running into apple carts and we figured that the creator must've had an apple fetish. Then we watched Appleseed (the recent version) WHICH DID NOT TASTE LIKE APPLE. Or an apple seed, for that matter. But it ended up being pretty incredible, visually, that is. I had no idea what was going on half the time, mainly because we were making a pseudo-MST3k commentary on it. Basically, it was like Steamboy: lots of style, not much substance.
I rented Shaun of the Dead but the DVD was all scratched up, so it kept stuttering throughout the movie. I hate to say it, but I'm disappointed with what I've seen so far. Amusing concept and ideas, but somehow, none of them are really hitting my funny bone. Unless it gets better later on (I watched up to the point were Shaun and his flatmate are about to hop in the car to get Shaun's mom). Maybe I'm just a stupid American.
Long entry is getting long. Someone recommend me a book. I am feeling demanding.
